A national platform for practical climate action<\/p>\n
World Environment Day 2026 brought together government agencies, development partners, conservation organisations, academic institutions, private-sector representatives, media and the public. Climate Action Nepal participated throughout the week-long celebration as a lead sponsor and co-partner, aligning its work with national environmental priorities while highlighting community-centred solutions.<\/p>\n
The engagement combined an interactive exhibition, direct conversations with decision-makers, national media outreach and research-based communication. Together, these activities made complex environmental challenges more accessible and demonstrated how local action, youth leadership and institutional collaboration can support a climate-resilient Nepal.<\/p>\n
Three-dimensional models and visual displays helped visitors explore the relationships between climate change, ecosystem degradation, biodiversity, livelihoods and sustainable development. Team members guided visitors through the exhibits and connected each model to ongoing community-based activities.<\/p>\n
More than 400 people visited the exhibition, including government officials, development practitioners, conservation experts, academics, students, youth groups, media representatives and members of the public. Their feedback reflected strong interest in Climate Action Nepal’s innovative, practical and community-centred approach.<\/p>\n
The exhibition created direct opportunities to exchange ideas with representatives from the National Planning Commission, the Ministry and Department of Environment, WWF Nepal, the Zoological Society of London Nepal, academia, conservation organisations and other institutions. These interactions strengthened institutional relationships and opened space for future collaboration.<\/p>\n
A significant outcome was the formal recognition of Climate Action Nepal as a co-partner of the national World Environment Day celebration. The Department of Environment presented a token of appreciation for the organisation’s sustained contribution to planning, coordination, exhibition and outreach activities during the week-long campaign.<\/p>\n
The acknowledgement reflects growing institutional confidence in Climate Action Nepal’s contribution to environmental awareness, youth-led innovation and community-based climate action.<\/p>\n
Climate Action Nepal co-organised a special discussion programme broadcast nationally through Global Television HD. The dialogue brought together perspectives from Climate Action Nepal, the Department of Environment and ICIMOD on environmental conservation, air pollution, climate resilience and sustainable development pathways for Nepal.<\/p>\n
Climate Action Nepal also contributed to public and policy discourse through the article “Climate Action for People and Planet: A Community-Led Vision for Nepal,” authored by Ujjwal Upadhyay, Ayushma Aryal and Godhulee Adhikari. The article examined climate change, ecosystem degradation, biodiversity conservation, waste management and sustainable development through a community-led lens.<\/p>\n
The exhibition, television dialogue and research article reached different audiences through complementary formats-hands-on demonstration, expert discussion and accessible evidence-based analysis.<\/p>\n
World Environment Day 2026 marked an important milestone for Climate Action Nepal. The positive response from public institutions, development partners, conservation organisations, media and visitors demonstrated the relevance of combining community experience with strong public communication and policy engagement.<\/p>\n
