Our Approach

Capacity Building

Training youth, communities, and institutions to lead climate action.

At Climate Action Nepal, we believe that lasting climate action begins by strengthening the knowledge, skills and confidence of people and communities. Rather than simply implementing activities, we focus on building local capacity so that individuals are equipped with the practical tools, technical knowledge and leadership needed to respond to climate and environmental challenges. Our approach enables people to apply what they learn within their own homes, schools, workplaces and communities.

Our capacity-building initiatives span diverse sectors and target groups. Through the Building Resilient Schools and Communities programme, we strengthened climate literacy, disaster preparedness and environmental stewardship among students and teachers using interactive learning activities and practical demonstrations. The Climate-Smart Agriculture and Vermicomposting project equipped farmers with knowledge and hands-on skills in climate-smart farming, soil restoration, vermicomposting and sustainable agricultural practices. Through Scaling Clean Cooking Around Chitwan National Park, households received practical orientation on adopting clean cooking technologies, while the Training for Plastic Waste Workers enhanced waste workers' knowledge of plastic identification, circular economy principles and occupational safety. Similarly, the Women's Green Enterprise Development project built women's entrepreneurial skills through practical training in scented candle production, branding, packaging, marketing and small-enterprise development, creating opportunities for climate-resilient livelihoods and economic empowerment.

Beyond technical skills, we aim to foster critical thinking and community ownership. Through this, the empowered individuals become the driving force behind resilience and sustainability within their own communities. Climate Action Nepal fosters a growing network of informed and capable individuals who continue to generate positive environmental and social impact.
