Locally-led Action

Sustainable climate solutions are most effective when they are designed with communities and led by the people most affected by environmental challenges. So, we at Climate Action Nepal work closely with vulnerable local stakeholders to understand their priorities, build on their local knowledge and develop practical interventions that respond to the unique social, economic and ecological context of each community. By placing communities at the centre of planning and implementation, we promote ownership and long-term sustainability.

Our locally led initiatives include working with farming communities, firewood-dependent households, local schools, women, and communities surrounding national parks. Beyond implementing initiatives with these groups, we focus on ensuring that participants gain practical knowledge and skills that they can confidently apply, share and demonstrate within their own communities. Through continued engagement, due diligence, continuous support and encouragement, we enable participants to transform from beneficiaries into active advocates and local champions, helping climate solutions spread beyond those directly reached by our programmes and creating a lasting ripple effect within their communities.
