Scaling Clean Cooking Around Chitwan National Park

Buffer-zone communities, Chitwan April-June 2026

Climate Action Nepal, with support from KAS Political Dialogue Asia, is advancing clean cooking solutions for families living around Chitwan National Park. Following an earlier distribution of 20 electric stoves to Bote community households, the project provided 20 additional infrared electric stoves on 22 June 2026, bringing total reach to 40 families.

Climate Responsive Community Based Waste Management

Mahalaxmi Ward No. 1, Lalitpur (Sheetal Tole and Samjhana Tole) May-June 2026

The Climate Responsive Community Based Waste Management Project promoted household-level waste segregation, composting and sustainable waste practices in Mahalaxmi Ward No. 1, Lalitpur, while strengthening the role of women waste workers. Through door-to-door counselling, community training and capacity building, the project reached 106 community members and trained 22 women waste workers.

Budhi Rapti River Cleanup Campaign

Budhi Rapti River corridor, Chitwan 30 April 2026

On 30 April 2026, a multi-stakeholder river cleanup mobilised community members, local institutions, youth, students, informal waste workers and volunteers to remove plastic and other improperly disposed waste from the Budhi Rapti River corridor. The campaign combined direct environmental action with public education on river conservation, waste management and biodiversity protection.

Water for Wildlife: Circular Economy Practices For Critical Ecological Hotspots

Critical wetlands, river corridors, forests and high-visitor ecological sites in Nepal November 2026 | Ongoing site planning and implementation

The Water for Wildlife initiative is introducing distinctive bottle-shaped metal collection bins in ecological and tourism hotspots where plastic waste can easily leak into wetlands, rivers, forests and wildlife habitats. The bins combine practical disposal infrastructure with highly visible environmental messaging.
