Climate Responsive Community Based Waste Management

Mahalaxmi Ward No. 1, Lalitpur (Sheetal Tole and Samjhana Tole) May-June 2026

The Climate Responsive Community Based Waste Management Project promoted household-level waste segregation, composting and sustainable waste practices in Mahalaxmi Ward No. 1, Lalitpur, while strengthening the role of women waste workers. Through door-to-door counselling, community training and capacity building, the project reached 106 community members and trained 22 women waste workers.

Budhi Rapti River Cleanup Campaign

Budhi Rapti River corridor, Chitwan 30 April 2026

On 30 April 2026, a multi-stakeholder river cleanup mobilised community members, local institutions, youth, students, informal waste workers and volunteers to remove plastic and other improperly disposed waste from the Budhi Rapti River corridor. The campaign combined direct environmental action with public education on river conservation, waste management and biodiversity protection.
