Project Overview

The Phase II school resilience programme is strengthening climate literacy and disaster preparedness through interactive, practical and student-centred learning. Students connect climate risks with everyday actions, school safety and environmental responsibility while building confidence to lead change beyond the classroom.

Why This Project Matters

Children and young people face growing exposure to heatwaves, floods, air pollution, unsafe waste practices and other climate-related risks, yet many schools have limited opportunities for practical preparedness and sustained environmental action.

What the Project Is Doing

  • Conducting interactive sessions on climate change, local hazards, environmental conservation and DRR.
  • Facilitating evacuation drills and emergency response simulations.
  • Promoting responsible waste management and pollution prevention.
  • Establishing or strengthening eco-clubs and climate clubs.
  • Supporting student-led practical actions, preparedness campaigns and peer learning.
  • Encouraging students to share climate and safety messages with families and communities.

Expected Results and Ongoing Contribution

  • Improved climate and DRR understanding among at least 50 students and participating teachers.
  • Stronger school preparedness, safety culture and emergency confidence.
  • More active student leadership in environmental protection and resilience activities.
  • Sustained eco-club or climate-club engagement within participating schools.
  • Wider community awareness through student-led outreach.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Focus

  • Number of schools, students and teachers reached.
  • Completion of drills, simulations and practical preparedness exercises.
  • Pre- and post-session evidence of learning or awareness improvement.
  • Eco-club or climate-club activities initiated or strengthened.

Long-term Value
